Christmas Distractions

The Christmas tree and the neighbors’ sparkly lights are distracting me from writing. I need a good, full, quiet day to kick myself in the tushy and get somewhere on my WIP! So many distractions this time of year! It also doesn’t help that the weather, and darkness by 5:00, make a person want to snuggle up in bed with a good book. Excuses, I know.

Sent off another query today. Waiting on a partial, which gives me that ‘report card’ feeling. Anyone else? Feels exactly the same!

Anyone finished with shopping? Anyone baking or doing fun crafts?

  1. I love thumbprint cookies! Those were my favorite to bake, and my very favorite dough to eat!! I am enjoying the holiday prep, and it goes do fast, so I’ll try not to feel bad if I don’t get a lot of writing done.

  2. I’m sad I am not in the mood to bake, and I usually bake a ton in December. Finding out in the summer that I cannot have wheat/gluten anymore=bah humbug in the baking dept! I am determined to try and bake sugar cookies with-gag-rice flour!

  3. Does *wanting* to be done with your shopping count? 🙂

I’m hosting a preschooler playgroup tomorrow and we are decorating paper stars (I thought to have the kids make them, too, but the origami is a bit tricky) and making thumbprint cookies.

I really really really want to be writing, but I have a lot of holiday stuff to take care of first. Plus, I’m just sort of enjoying reveling in this time of year.

  4. I’m done shopping, haven’t started baking yet. I usually bake 6 or 7 cookie recipes and give them away as gifts to people that help us like the school bus driver, mailman, teachers, etc. Good luck with your queries!
