ShaNoWriMo word count: Zero, its over, kaput, deleted. My heart wasn’t into the sequel for my story. Instead, after stewing over the ending of my story for months, I finally thought of a better way to end it.
I feel so relieved! Now I’m going back through the story to shave off more words, and stitch in threads to pull the story to a proper close.
Excited to start on the next story whispering in my ear. Happy weekend!
Yeah, I’m glad you were able to figure it out, I know you’ve been having a rough go at it.
It was such a relief, Tracy. The ending is so much better, and slicing off some of my word count-maybe I won’t be so scary to the agents I query from here on out!
Thanks, Jennifer! Bangs-great example! 😀
Thanks, Karen. My ending is better and my word count is down to 88,000. I checked my first draft, which I thought was around 109,000, but holy smokes-it was 117,00. I feel like it is such an accomplishment!
That’s great! I love when you suddenly get that flash of insight into how to fix something.
I know this wonderful feeling. It’s kind of like when you get your bangs trimmed and they finally stop poking you in the eyes.
Oh, and thanks for the add. 🙂
That relief is the most excellent feeling, isn’t it? Glad you found your way and are nearing the “better ending.”
